Vulcan Materials, a leading supplier of sand, gravel, and crushed stone for the construction industry, had not updated their corporate headquarters in over 25 years. Although their 180,000 sf building was located in a beautiful, wooded setting, you wouldn’t know it from the restricted, outdated interior.
The extensive, 6-floor renovation project aimed to create a workplace where people simply want to be. This included maximizing the connection to the natural surroundings since most of their global workforce spends most of the day outside, on-site at one of their many rock quarries.
Over 3,000 linear feet of Teknion architectural walls were used to maximize daylighting and exterior views within the space. Interior meeting rooms and offices that used to be made of traditional drywall were replaced with glass walls to create a more open, connected, and contemporary workplace.
