After nearly 60 years of operating on the West Coast, the Academy of Country Music relocated their headquarters to Nashville, TN. Their new office space aims to reflect their innovative, renegade spirit while taking on a new, Nashville-infused identity. The Academy’s history was a major design focus for the space. Similar to the artists they represent, every detail of the space tells a story.
No detail was too small as various architectural and furniture details tie back to instrument components and materiality. Custom workstations and private offices create a highly-functional workplace for employees while a state-of-the-art content studio and event lounge (featuring a performance stage) create hosting spaces to highlight the music artists they represent.
For private offices and meeting rooms, demountable glass storefronts were accented with custom brass handles to provide an elevated, bespoke aesthetic. Rugs, drapery, accessories, and artwork were a huge component of this project as well. Layering textures in each area created a sense of warmth that speaks to the open-door culture ACM strives to not only maintain but continue to advance at their new Nashville headquarters.
